'The better you know yourself, the better your relationship with the rest of the world'

- Toni Collette

The first and most important relationship is the one with ourselves. Our past experiences have shaped the person we are now. But that doesn't mean that defines us, and it doesn't mean we can't ditch those habits or negative beliefs that really don't work anymore.

By having a deeper understanding of ourselves, we are more able to create much better relationships with others in our world, whether personal, romantic, or professional.

My guests come from varied backgrounds and share their stories and experiences. Maybe similar to yours, or giving you a different perspective.

So why not sit down, grab a cuppa and choose one of the episodes to listen to.

INTRO

Machandria Peters is a Cerebral Palsy Warrior, and an advocate, recognising that there is a disconnect between able-bodied individuals and those who are differently-abled (disabled). She shares her story and experiences to help educate and advocate.

In this episode, this vibrant and inspiring woman talks about how growing up Machandria said she wasn’t coddled by her parents. She knew that there was something different about her, didn't feel like it was going to be a detriment. She was able to run and play and do things with her cousins and siblings and friends. Until she went to Secondary school when things changed. Those around her made assumptions about her and her abilities.

Machindria candidly shares her experiences and explains how Cerebral Palsy can affect each person differently. Machandria not only lives successfully with her condition, but she thrives, as well as sharing her story, educating others about the condition.

She has defied odds and accomplished goals that many thought would be impossible. She is a Cerebral Palsy Warrior who recognizes that there is a limited representation for individuals who are differently-abled; she is passionate about sharing her experiences to advocate and educate.
